WATERFOWL: Plenty of field hunting opportunities, great for running traffic, especially in snow. Next door to a private quarry/roost. IYKYK. Public hunting access to the Scioto River across the road. One small pothole onsite, not wadable. Good sheet water with rain. Has been great field duck and goose shoots here in the past, based on wildlife manager’s experience.
DEER: Big ag property in Scioto River Valley. 670 yds of treeline to hunt plus a few other small strategic edge rows. 53 ACRES of CRP bedding next door. The deer bed and live in the CRP.
Rotated soy beans and corn annually, PROBABLY corn this year, but not guaranteed.
Just look at the Boone & Crockett Map of the USA, it is a map of the river system. Rivers = water, minerals, nutrients, food, and big bucks!
PRO’s
- GREAT deer area and County
- Tons of CRP bedding next door
- Huge buck potential
- Baiting, minerals, ATV’s OK
- SUPER easy flat property with easy access.
- LOTS of Deer regularly seen nearby.
- Across road from huge river bottom.
- Only hunted one year for deer in recent past.
CON’s
- Not for everyone on the deer hunting due to lack of trees, but has a good opportunity to bag a big one if willing to put in the time.
