In 2013 a group of avid archery hunters reached out to us looking for a better Ohio whitetail deer hunting experience. They had been on several guided and semi-guided hunts in Ohio, but were looking for something different. They simply asked if we could help them find a quality piece of private property to hunt and a place to stay for the week. From that point, Bowhunting Ohio Whitetails, LLC (B.O.W.) was born, and continues to help DIY archery hunters find a better whitetail deer hunting experience in Ohio.
Since then, we have added Ohio Hunting Leases, Turkey Hunting, and Waterfowl Hunting to the outdoor experiences we provide.

Ryan Springer, Civil Engineer and owner of Bowhunting Ohio Whitetails, B.O.W. is an avid bow hunter who grew up in the foothills and farm country of southeast Ohio. He’s been hunting deer with archery equipment since he could peddle a bicycle to the neighbors’ wood lots.
At age 16, Ryan won the youth International Bowhunting Organization (IBO) World Championship and started his life-long path of competitive archery and perusing large Ohio whitetails.
With four Boone and Crockett whitetails under his belt, at the age of 29, he decided to gather up a group of hunting buddies and travel west on a Do-it-Yourself elk hunt. With a little guidance from a wise hunter, a finger on the map showing where to hunt, they were off! His annual elk hunts continue to this day, and is the foundation of our DIY hunting model.

Like Ryan, Kris is an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He bagged his first whitetail with the help of his grandfather at the age of 12 and his passion for DIY outdoor adventures has never slowed down. Since then, Kris’ hunger for hunting and outdoor pursuits has carried him around the U.S. and Canada chasing elk, deer, moose, proghorn, and many other quarry. If it runs, flies, or swims, he’s in!
Kris handles all hunting leases, land sales, and is the leader of Banded Ohio Waterfowl (B.O.W.), our Waterfowl Hunt Club, that provides diverse waterfowl hunting access opportunities in Southeast Ohio.
Kris and Ryan started the Ohio Outfitters and Guides Association together, to promote professional collaboration and education among the hunting outfitter community in Ohio.
