At Bowhunting Ohio Whitetails, we measure success a little differently than most. We as hunters know that a good hunt doesn't just mean shooting a big buck. For most hunters, just seeing a big buck or exceptional deer movement is a very successful hunt, and that's how we measure success! Not by the number of deer harvested, but by the quality of the hunt!

If this was a typical hunt where you are told to sit in a certain stand at a certain time, our Harvest rate would probably be higher, but that's not our goal. We want you to have the freedom to set your own stand and hunt how you please, that alone adds its own sense of adventure!

Your harvest rate depends on you! We offer a very low pressure, high quality property  for your DIY hunt. Our most successful hunters, pre-scout their hunting property and hunt daylight to dark, making the most of their time. We strongly encourage everyone to become familiar with your property prior to your hunting week. Once you book your hunt, please feel free to schedule a scouting trip on the property.

Yes. We have a 130-150″ minimum gross Boone and Crockett antler score. Just let us know if you wish to hunt a 130 or 150 inch property, we have both! Here is a helpful guide to field judging. Boone and Crockett Field Judging Tips

Absolutely! Contact us today to discuss the details of our solo hunter properties.

No. Unlike others we do not place you on a property or in a cabin with other hunters. When you book a hunt with us, the property and cabin is exclusive to your group.

Hunters provide, hang/set their own treestands/blinds anywhere you would like to hunt. We also encourage pre-season scouting trips and provide suggested hunting locations and an aerial image. Climbing, hang-on, and ladder sticks are okay. We ask that you do not use screw in steps or spikes in the trees.

We offer nice fully furnished lodging, similar to what you would expect when renting a cabin for a family vacation.  See our rates and dates page for “with lodging” pricing

Hunters provide their own food/meals; If we provide lodging for your hunt, they are outfitted with kitchens and utensils.

Yes! We offer several hunts where hunters can find a nearby Airbnb, hotel, or campground to stay. See our rates and dates page for “no lodging” pricing.

Crossbows are permitted in Ohio.

In general, Yes! Please check with us; based on how many hunters are in your group and we should be able to accommodate a guest at a minimal additional charge.

Of course! We strongly support youth in our sport. Please fill out the minor release form when booking.

During the November Rut, average seasonal lows are low 30’s overnight and low to mid 50’s during the day. This is Ohio, you could see 20 degree swings on the top and bottom. Bring gear for cold mornings and mild afternoons.

We run our hunts in Ohio’s southeast/southcentral and southwest Big Woods and Farm Country. There are tens of thousands of acres of mature hardwoods in and around our hunting areas with a light mix of agriculture where bucks grow old. We have hunts in Fairfield, Hocking, Highland, Jackson, and Scioto Counties.

Generally, yes. We provide an aerial image indicating property boundaries with contour lines. The map, along with visible markers in the field will assist you with navigation. We encourage all new hunters to scout the property you're hunting prior to season and better familiarize yourself with the hot spots. We also highly suggesting our hunters download OnX, it is an excellent tool in the field for mapping.
